Baptism
Saint Mary’s has conducted almost ten thousand baptisms since 1863 and you are very welcome to contact us on 9389 3077 to arrange joining the St Mary’s family.
Baptism is one of the two "sacraments" or "signs" which we as Anglicans practice. Baptism is a sign of cleansing and forgiveness of sin. It is the starting point of a new life - a "born again" life being lived for God.
Baptism is usually part of the 10.00am Eucharist Service. This enables a large part of the congregation to witness the admission of the newly-baptised into Christ’s Church and to welcome them. It also serves to remind the rest of the Community of the profession of faith made in their own baptism.
